DESIGN FOR A NEO PERCEPTION
Digital technologies as new perceptual tools to explore our environments and others. They provide us with enhanced perception in some cases and cripple our perception in others. A new hybrid understanding of our reality is created by digital prosthesis that give us new kinds of ways of seeing, feeling, smelling and even tasting.
DESIGN FOR THE ATTENTION LOOPHOLE
Attention loopholes are the moments where we look but we don’t see. That precise moment is also what magicians often exploit.
In our age of information overload getting someone's attention and keeping it is a task on its own. As attention spans shrink (from the mailbox to the bin, approximately 7sec) we are expecting not only to be entertained but also to have a moment of revelation. An aha moment of revealing something hidden in plain sight.
THE END OF OBJECTIVITY
From my perspective means from my point of view, which can be dogmatic, yes, but subjectivity is the only realistic condition.
Reality is too complex to grasp so we construct a subjective view by creating a shortcut between what is and what seems to be. This new dogmatic subjectivity is the only condition within which designers can work, away from the myth of objectivity.
